CO2 sensor: what is it?

A CO2 sensor measures the amount of CO2 in the air of a room, as a measure of how fresh the air is.

A CO2 sensor measures how much CO2 is in the air of a room. The more people in a room, the higher the value. A high value means the air is less fresh.

When you connect a CO2 sensor to the ventilation, the building ventilates based on real demand. That is healthier than too little ventilation, and more efficient than always running at full power. See also occupancy sensor.
