Logistics
Smart and sustainable logistics property
In a distribution centre, everything stops when the network stops. Scanners, forklifts and robots always need a connection. At the same time, there are huge roofs for solar energy and more and more electric trucks that need charging. That calls for smart control.
What we look at
Five points that make the difference.
Coverage deep into the racking
WiFi that works between high racks, even when they are full.
Smart charging
Electric trucks and forklifts charge when there is power to spare.
Generation and consumption in balance
Solar panels, batteries and consumption smartly matched.
Always online
A backup connection, because operations run day and night.
Ready for automation
Space and capacity for robots and sensors, now and in the future.
What is roaming and why does it matter in a distribution centre?
Roaming is switching access points while a scanner or vehicle moves through the hall. If that does not go well, the connection drops briefly and work stalls. A well-designed network prevents this.
How do I charge electric trucks without overloading the connection?
With smart charging. The chargers charge faster when there is power to spare, for example from the solar panels, and slower when consumption is high. That keeps you within the limits of your grid connection.
Is a backup connection needed in a distribution centre?
Almost always. A distribution centre often runs day and night, and the warehouse system is usually in the cloud. A second connection via a different route keeps the operation running.
