Data-driven insights
Saving energy starts with measuring.
Many commercial buildings still use a lot of energy at night and at weekends. Climate control and lighting stay on in empty rooms. With IoT you can see this, and control it smartly.
01. In four steps
From measuring to saving.
- 01
Measure
Map consumption per floor, tenant or installation. Then you can see where the energy goes.
- 02
Understand
Compare consumption with occupancy and opening hours. Where is energy used when nobody is there?
- 03
Control
Let climate control, lighting and ventilation respond to occupancy, daylight and air quality.
- 04
Improve
Track the effect and adjust. Use the data for your reports and your next steps.
02. Where the gains are
Smart systems that save energy.
Climate control
Heating and cooling are usually the biggest energy cost in a commercial building.
Lighting
Lights only come on where and when they are needed.
Smart meters
You see where energy is wasted and can act on it.
Occupancy sensors
The basis for smart climate, lighting and cleaning.
Air quality
Ventilating based on measurement instead of at full power.
Solar panels and battery
Using more of your own power and exporting less at a low price.
Charging points
Smart charging prevents peaks and a more expensive grid connection.
Building management system
You see faults and waste immediately, not only on the annual bill.
03. The precondition
No network, no smart control.
All these systems send data over the network. If that network fails, or the data does not come in centrally, the building is flying blind. That is why we first look at the digital foundation: the connection, the cabling, the WiFi and the separation between networks.
With the IT-Label you show that this foundation is in order. That is a strong signal for tenants, investors and lenders.
About the IT-LabelMind the security
Smart building systems are also a way in for hackers. Put them on their own, separate network. Change default passwords and keep the software up to date. And agree who is responsible for management.
For IT professionalsFrequently asked questions
Questions about smart savings.
How much energy can smart control save?
That varies a lot from building to building. It depends on how the building is controlled now, how it is used and which installations are present. That is why we do not quote a fixed percentage. With smart meters you will see after a few weeks exactly what it delivers in your building.
Where do I start?
Usually with measuring. Once you know where the energy goes, you can choose the measures that deliver the most. Often these are occupancy sensors and smarter settings for the climate control.
Does everything need to be replaced?
No. Often you can connect existing installations and set them up more smartly. That is cheaper than replacing them, and delivers results quickly.
Where are the gains in your building?
A pre-inspection shows which smart measures deliver the most, and whether the digital foundation is ready.
